DEMOCRATIC HEALTHCARE PERFIDY

i have tended to vote republican more than not; voting my pocket book, not liking all the nutty, intolerance and worse with their social agenda. i made my peace with obama and the dems in power thinking that at least womens rights, to choice, privacy etc. would be strenthened during this period.

now the ultimate betrayal. the dems, inorder to pass their 2000 page healthcare disaster of a bill did a deal with anti abortion democrats to withhold federal funding for abortions in this new unhealthy bill.

the betrayal. women betrayed by democrats, by a woman, nancy pelosi.

where is the outrage?

dude, where u been??????

while americans watch the healthcare debate, the dems have sneaked many other things past us. try the energy bill, cap and trade. already in the works. obama at the g-20 meeting signing on to an international currency, ie not the dollar. signing on to allowing 3rd world status equal to american status.
and no christmas tree at the white house, but a holiday tree instead so the muslims will not be offended.

there is no healthcare reform bill. it is a bill of ideology, the crowning moment of implementing socialism into this country full-swing. watching the debate and listening to pelosi, schummer, etc, they stated as such.

yes, dark days for america.

Ok, I just have to weigh in on this one. I was surprised by the blogger's outrage over the anti-abortion issue.

I promise you, if you are pro-choice, this will not even be an issue at all by the time the final passes. In order to get this into legislation, this amendment will be chucked. Abortion funding will be in there...or it won't be passed. That's our democrats, you'll see.

no body is saying u can't abort. they are saying federal funds won't pay for it.

hell, do u no how many women/girls i know that have had abortions, and paid for it themselves?

what's the beef?

The passage of the amendment is all a numbers game. It boiled down to this: without the amendment, Pelosi was short 10 Democratic votes. Thus she went for the pro-lifers to get this passed through the House.

Now the dilemma is that if the amendment is not struck down in the Senate, 40 pro-choice will not vote for the bill.

It's now 10 less votes vs. 40 less votes.

Obama will lose his already shrinking base if this is not taken out of the final bill.

I agree with both anonymous and litsag1.

I also believe that this bill is so far-reaching in its implications that the abortion amendment is almost minor. The devil is in the details. And when one takes the time to read or research what is in this bill, it is horrifying.
