harry reid is being pilloried for saying that obama was advantaged by being light skinned and well spoken. he has apologized. the democrats have forgiven him. though he is getting off way easier than any conservative would have been treated.
now i think that harry and nancy (sid and nancy?) are taking the country down the drain and should be pilloried. by the way let us not forget that to pillory is to put in stocks in a public square and and throw vegatables at! however not for this. harry was telling the truth. not a wise thing in american politics. there is ample research showing that light skinned, well spoken afro americans do better than dark skinned, less well spoken afro americans. ask them. then we have that goofball vice president, joe biden who more or less said the same thing, describing obama as clean cut and well groomed i believe. and he became vp.
now maybe it is wrong. certainly as to color, as to well spoken, i beg to differ. i believe it is ok to prefer people who speak well of those who dont.
so fry harry for being a corrupt jerk as oppossed to an honest idiot.

harry reid's commment was correct, and your analysis is correct. however, dispite all the talk about obama's eloquence and how he articulates....i heard him speak to an all-black crowd in 2008, and he was total jive-talk. his procounciation went out the window and he became as them, the "poh-leece" etc. forget all this political correctness...obama can be as jive-talking as the rest, in the right setting. just as gays become more gay when they are surrounded by their ilk, southerns become more redneck, etc. there's power in numbers. always.
reid was also correct in that some people are not ready for a dark black. i know people who would never vote for this, solely based on the color. he was wrong on one thing: obama can be black and he can be white...it's who he is around at the moment.
when i was growing up, my grandmother referred to them as negras. then it became negroes, next it was colored people. all of these evolved and became acceptable. then it became i'm black and i'm proud. now it's african american. i'm tired of having to be politically correct and held accountable for people who still can't come to terms with how they are to be defined.
not an honest bone in his body. and if one fried him, he would still taste like the lard ball that he is
